THIS WEEK (January 22, 2012) Pastor Willemina will continue her sermon series looking at the Lord's Supper. This week's message is based on Mark 14:12 - 26 and we step into the story of the Upper Room. It's a cozy meal as Jesus and the twelve disciples celebrate Passover. But then Jesus speaks of one of them who will betray him. He later continues breaking the bread, stating it's his body and sharing the cup of wine as his blood of a new covenant. What did the disciples make of this? How do we understand it, with fresh eyes and open hearts? Let us again (or for the first time!) be amazed at the tender yet terrible sacrifice Christ made as his blood was "poured out for many".

Pastor Willemina will look at 1 Corinthians 11:17-34: "Communion & Broken Community". We will also be celebrating Communion.
